Community impact projects across Canada still have time to obtain funding through Tweed Collective.
The social purpose initiative led by Canadian cannabis company, Tweed, is now accepting applications for funding until February 20 — two weeks later than the original deadline.
“Tweed Collective is our commitment to building on our legacy of making a positive impact in all the communities we call home,” said Canopy Growth Chief Advocacy Officer, Hilary Black. “We believe that cannabis is a force for good and we hope to lead the industry to help solve social issues that are important for Canadians.”
A subsidiary of Canopy Growth, Tweed is focused on quality products and meaningful customer relationships. In addition to selling cannabis, the company strives to facilitate conversations around the plant and how it can be used. Last year, Tweed partnered with Uber and MADD Canada to raise awareness on the dangers of driving high. Subsequently, the company developed Hi. Society, a program to support budtender education across the country.
How to get funding through Tweed Collective
Over the next four years, Canopy Growth will devote $20 million towards social purpose initiatives across Canada through Tweed Collective. Grants will be offered to charitable organizations, non-profits, and BIAs that are working to improve their communities for everyone. To be considered for support, organizations must be working towards one of Tweed Collective’s three impact pillars:
- Projects and programs that develop and enhance skills to help more Canadians find their path to prosperity.
- Initiatives that bring people together to learn, act and share to create a greener future for all.
- Programs that encourage connectivity through shared interests, improved accessibility, and the creation of welcoming public spaces.
All candidates will receive a confirmation email once Tweed Collective has received the application. The company will announce the winning applicants this spring.
